Registrar Profile

Umesh Chandra Prasad is a versatile higher education administrator, who has worked as Registrar in Govt. Technical Institutes under Ministry of Education, GoI like National Institute of Advance Manufacturing Technology, Ranchi (July 2019 -Dec 2023), Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology, Malda (From Dec 2023 onwards). He also worked as Chief Finance and Administrative Officer in Institute of Nano Science and Technology (DST, GoI), Mohali from July 2015 to July 2019 and as Chief Administrative Officer in Indian Council of Agricultural Research from May 1995 to July 2015.

Being in Research / Academic administration for nearly 30 years, he has worked with responsibility coordinated academic and research activities and extended all possible help to Research Scholars, Scientists, Faculties and Alumni. He is well conversant with matters related to Academic / Research administration. He has worked closely with Senior leadership learning the transformation and changes happening in the Academic and Educational ecosystem.

He holds B.E (Civil engineering) from NIT Silchar, MBA(HRM) from Sikkim Manipal University and P.G Diploma in Public Policy & Management from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. He is a facilitator by nature, hardworking, having original ideas and creative bend of mind.
